Postgame: Hawks - 10 Bruins - 4

Well it was a battle, both on the ice and trying to get these updates to you. It was a penalty ridden game and the third period saw many misconducts for both teams, thankfully BEFORE the last 10 mins!

Bruins opened the scoring less than 2 mins in on a goal by Jacob Bergeron but it was a short-lived lead as :28 seconds later Chris Derochie tied it up. Paul Herringer, who assisted on the first GF goal, put the Bruins back into the lead for the second time at the 8 minute mark. Thats when the roof started melting in the GF Arena as the Nitehawks went on a 5 goal spree that took them into the 3rd up 6-2. BV scored 4 more in the 3rd to the Bruins 2 and left the arena a smoldering pile of rubble(figuratively of course).

Scoring was spread out and if you stepped on the ice, you got a point as 8 Nitehawks had a multi-point game including: Edwards (4A), Martin (2G, 2A), Calvin (4A), Derochie (1G, 2A), Collins (2A), Schapansky (2G), Flanagan (2G), McKinnon (1G, 1A). Stang, Dixon, Niminiken, Spear, Patershuk all pitched in for single points as well.

PP didnt prove to be a factor in this game although they did connect twice on 5 attempts. Boxscore shows them as 2 for 15 but i believe that will be changed as they never took into account coincidental penalties dont count as a PP.

With the win, the Nitehawks(12-3-0-0 24pts) pull to within 1 point of division leading Nelson(12-4-0-1 25pts) but still retain 2 games in hand. Nelson plays Columbia Valley tomorrow eve before visiting us here in Fruitvale Saturday Oct 29 at 7:30PM.

In the other game tonight, Kimberley stunned the Rebels with a late PP goal by Hubscher to force overtime. Strachan got the winner for the Dynamiters only 1:04 into OT to sour Scott Morisseau' first game with the Rebels.
