Gameday: NiteHawks/Border Bruins

After a 4 day rest, the Hawks storm into Grand Forks this evening with a (hopefully) well rested and repaired team. Tonight marks the return of Bryan Hinchcliffe who was issued a match penalty on Oct 8 in the the final minute of a forgettable game against Osoyoos and was subsequently slapped with a 6-game suspension.

This will be the 4th meeting of the season between these two division rivals. BV has won all 3 of the previous games outscoring GF 30-5 along the way. So far, GF has yet to record its first victory and I dont foresee it happening tonight. Look for the 19-20-21 line to get re-ignited and burn down the barn in Grand Forks although they will be joined by the likes of Johnson and Niminiken who were stellar in last weekends game against Summerland.

Again, teams are playing with fire so far this season if they play undisciplined against BV. After going 2 for 5 (40%) against the Steam, BV is now up to 28.38% overall on the powerplay which still leads the league by a good margin although Osoyoos is catching up. Combine that with GF having the worst PK in the league and its a for-gone conclusion that it would be best for them to steer clear of the bin.

Game time tonight is 7:30pm at the Grand Forks Arena. The only other game played tonight is Castlegar Rebels visiting Kimberley.
